Good news — Miyako Messe is a PowerX station that's open 24 hours, and charging there is free. However, PowerX chargers do require a reservation through the app, so you can't just plug in and start. Here's what to do:

1. **Complete registration (if you haven't):** Make sure your account is set up in the app, including credit-card registration.
2. **Reserve in the app:** Open the map, select the Miyako Messe station, and either tap **"Charge now"** (if you want to start right away) or create a reservation for a specific time slot. Note that a time slot may be grayed out if it's already booked, under maintenance, or the charger is preparing — pick a time shown as available.
3. **Get your QR code:** At your reserved time, a QR code appears in the app (in your Reservation list).
4. **Scan at the charger:** Hold the QR code over the reader located **above the connector slot** — scan it *before* plugging in.
5. **Plug in and start:** Firmly insert the connector into your vehicle (perpendicular to the port if it's stiff), then press **Start** to begin charging.

A couple of extra tips:
- General members get 30-minute charging slots, and you can book an additional slot afterward if it's available.
- If the connector won't release when you're done, gently wiggle it to remove it.

みやこめっせの充電器は事前予約制です。アプリのダウンロードは済んでいるようなので、以下の手順でご利用いただけます。

**1. アカウント登録の確認**
アプリのダウンロードに加えて、アカウント登録（クレジットカード登録を含む）が必要です。まだ登録がお済みでなければ、まずアプリ内で登録を完了させてください。

**2. 予約の作成**
アプリのマップから「みやこめっせ」の拠点を選び、「今すぐ利用」を選択するか、予約を作成してください。予約内容は最後の確定ボタンまで押して完了となります。みやこめっせは24時間利用可能・無料の拠点です。

**3. QRコードの読み取り**
予約時間になるとアプリにQRコードが表示されます（「今すぐ利用」の場合は予約作成後すぐ）。充電器の読み取り部はコネクタ差込口の上にあるので、そこにQRコードをかざして読み取ってください。

**4. コネクタを差し込んでスタート**
読み取り後、コネクタを車両にしっかり差し込み、「スタート」を押すと充電が始まります。差し込みにくい場合は、差込口に対して垂直に差し込んでみてください。

なお、充電カードは使えません。一般会員の場合は30分枠でのご利用となります。

You can start right away — here's the flow at Miyako Messe (9-1 Okazaki Seishojicho, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto-shi; open 24 hours, parking free).

**1. Make a reservation first (required)**
PowerX chargers won't start without one. In the app map, tap **MIYAKO MESSE** and either choose "Charge now" / "Use Now" for an immediate slot, or pick a start time. Only slots shown in white are bookable — grayed-out times mean outside operating hours, a closing day, the charger preparing, maintenance, or another customer already has it. Make sure you press the confirm button so the reservation is actually created, and that your account has a credit card registered.

**2. Get your QR code at the reserved time**
Open the app's **Reservation list** — the QR code appears once your reservation time begins. If no QR code shows, that means the reservation wasn't created (or isn't active yet).

**3. Scan before you plug in**
The QR reader is located **above the connector slot**. Hold your phone's QR code over that reader first. If the station has two dispensers, you can use either one within the station you reserved — just scan at the one you're using.

**4. Connect and press Start**
Insert the connector firmly into your car (straight in, perpendicular to the port; wiggle slightly if it's stiff), then press **Start** on the charger. Note that charging cards can't be used — the app QR is the only way to start.

**A few useful notes**
- Standard membership uses 30-minute slots; PowerX First members can book from 3 days ahead and hold up to 3 reservations at once.
- If you need to change plans, cancel from the reservation list **before** the start time — after it passes, a cancellation fee (typically ¥500) can apply. You can see the exact terms under Reservations/History → select the reservation → top-right menu → Details → Cancellation policy.
- If the connector gets hot from back-to-back charging, wait 10–15 minutes for it to cool and try again.
- There may be an active free-trial offer on your first uses — check the app for what applies to your account.

京都市勧業館みやこめっせには、館内に無料の充電スポット（コンセント利用可）は設けられていません。

アプリのダウンロード済みですが予約はしていないとのことですが、施設内での充電は一般の来館者向けには提供されていないため、予約の有無に関わらず、館内での充電は行えません。
