Short answer: no — you're only billed for the electricity you actually charge.

Here's how it works for a first-time user:

1. **Pay-as-you-go billing.** PowerX charges based on the kWh you actually charge, not by time or a flat fee. If no charging occurred, you will not be billed (/sources/en/runbooks/billing.md:23, /sources/en/runbooks/billing.md:81).

2. **You may see a temporary card "hold," but it's not a charge.** When you make a reservation, PowerX places an authorization hold (pre-authorization) on your credit card to verify it's valid. Some card companies send a notification for this, which can look like a charge — but it's not an actual billing, and the hold is released later (/sources/en/runbooks/billing.md:81).

3. **One caveat: unused reservations.** If you book a slot and then don't use it, a cancellation fee can apply once the reservation start time has passed. Canceling before the start time generally incurs no fee, so if your plans change, cancel from the reservation list in the app before your slot begins (/sources/en/runbooks/reservations.md:252). The exact fee terms for your reservation are shown in the app under Reservations/History > select the reservation > "Details" > "Cancellation policy."

So: register, reserve, and if you end up not charging, you won't be billed for electricity — just make sure to cancel any unused reservation before its start time.

充電されなければ、充電料金は発生しません。PowerXの充電料金は充電量に応じた従量課金のため、アプリのダウンロードや会員登録だけでは料金はかかりません。一般会員としてご利用いただく場合、会費も発生しない仕組みです（/sources/ja/public-help/articles/40049696828569.md:18、/sources/ja/runbooks/stations.md:62）。

ただし、初回利用で料金が発生するケースが3つありますのでご注意ください。

1つ目は予約です。予約したにもかかわらず、予約開始時間や充電開始時間を過ぎてキャンセルした場合、あるいは予約終了時間までにご利用がなかった場合は、キャンセルポリシーが適用され500円のキャンセル料金が発生します。PowerX First会員の場合も同様です（/sources/ja/public-help/articles/16819739268249.md:30-33、/sources/ja/public-help/articles/40049412120217.md:20-23）。行けなくなった場合は、開始時間前までにキャンセル手続きをお願いします。

2つ目は駐車料金です。充電とは別に、施設の駐車場料金は原則お客様ご負担となります。一部に無料のステーションもありますので、ご利用前に各ステーションのご案内でご確認ください（/sources/ja/public-help/articles/22881312858393.md:20-22）。

3つ目は有料会員「PowerX First」です。Firstは任意加入で、ご登録されない限り会費は発生しませんが、ご登録した場合は充電の有無にかかわらず会費（年払い換算で月額900円、月払いは月額1,050円）がかかります。また「90日間無料キャンペーン」で登録された場合は、無料期間中にアプリから「自動更新を停止」されない限り、期間終了後に登録済みクレジットカードで会費が決済されます（/sources/ja/public-help/articles/40050080640537.md:20-25、/sources/ja/reference/membership.md:119-121、/sources/ja/reference/membership.md:187）。
