Prompt (en)

How can I compare your pricing with other companies' per-minute pricing?

Expected (en)

PowerX uses pay-per-kWh (volume-based) billing — you pay for the amount of energy charged, not by time. If you join PowerX First, the per-kWh charging price is lower than for general members. For details on the pricing menu, please see:

Good question — the key thing to know is that PowerX doesn't bill per minute at all, so a direct side-by-side with per-minute operators isn't apples-to-apples. Here's how to think about it:

**How PowerX billing works**
- PowerX uses pay-per-kWh (volume-based) billing: you pay for the amount of electricity actually charged, not for time. Even if you stop a 30-minute session at 15 minutes, you're only billed for the kWh delivered in those 15 minutes (en/runbooks/billing.md:189–197, 240–244).
- Current rates: regular rate is ¥65/kWh~, and PowerX First members get ¥45/kWh~ (always ¥20 off per kWh) (en/reference/membership.md:49–51).

**How to compare with a per-minute operator**
1. Estimate how much energy (kWh) your car actually accepts per minute at the station's output — PowerX stations offer 150 kW ultrafast charging, but the real speed depends on your vehicle's battery temperature and state of charge.
2. Multiply that estimated kWh by the per-kWh rate (¥65/kWh~ general, ¥45/kWh~ with PowerX First) to get an effective per-minute cost.
3. Compare that against the other company's per-minute rate. Keep in mind that with per-minute billing you pay for the full time even if charging slows down or stops early, whereas with PowerX you only pay for energy delivered.

**One more factor:** PowerX First costs ¥900/month and also includes booking up to 3 days ahead and reservations up to 75 minutes (en/reference/membership.md:22–28), so factor that membership fee into a total-cost comparison if you charge frequently.

For the full official pricing menu, see: https://support-evcs.power-x.jp/hc/ja/articles/26574552466457-%E5%85%85%E9%9B%BB%E6%96%99%E9%87%91%E3%83%A1%E3%83%8B%E3%83%A5%E3%83%BC%E3%81%AB%E3%81%A4%E3%81%84%E3%81%A6

If you tell me your vehicle model and typical charging session, I can help you work out an estimated per-session cost to compare against another operator's quote.

PowerX does not bill by the minute, so a straight "yen per minute" comparison isn't apples-to-apples. Here's how to make the comparison fair.

1) Understand the two billing bases
- PowerX: pay-per-kWh (volume-based). You pay only for the energy actually delivered, at your menu's per-kWh rate. Time spent charging does not add cost, and if you stop early you're only billed for the kWh delivered (/sources/en/runbooks/billing.md:193, /sources/ja/runbooks/billing.md:193).
- Per-minute networks: you pay for elapsed time, so the effective cost rises whenever charging output is low (cold battery, high state of charge, temperature derating, shared charger).

2) Convert everything to yen per kWh (or cost per session)
- Competitor: (per-minute rate × minutes billed) ÷ kWh actually delivered = effective yen/kWh. Example: 100 yen/min for 15 min = 1,500 yen; if the car only took 8 kWh, that's about 188 yen/kWh.
- PowerX: kWh delivered × your per-kWh rate. Our runbook lists general-member rates of 65 / 70 / 75 yen per kWh (Economy / Regular / Premium) (/sources/en/runbooks/charging-use.md:105), and PowerX First as roughly 20 yen/kWh lower (guide: general 65-75, First 45-55) (/sources/en/runbooks/charging-use.md:248). These figures are flagged as time-sensitive in our internal guidance, so please confirm the current numbers on the official pricing-menu page before relying on them: https://support-evcs.power-x.jp/hc/ja/articles/26574552466457
- Easiest real-world test: do the same route/state-of-charge session on each network and compare "yen ÷ kWh added" from the receipt or app history.

3) Add the items that usually get missed
- Membership/subscription fee, amortised: break-even kWh = monthly fee ÷ per-kWh saving.
- Idle/occupancy or "connector blocking" fees, session or connection fees, cancellation/no-show fees, and whether prices are tax-inclusive.
- Whether the price changes with output level (under PowerX's volume billing it does not; output is also the same for First and general members and across menus) (/sources/en/runbooks/charging-troubleshooting.md:456-459).

4) Don't confuse time caps with time charges
Reservation slots (up to 30 minutes for general use, up to 75 minutes with PowerX First) limit how long you may occupy the charger; they are not a per-minute fee (/sources/en/runbooks/charging-use.md:248).

One limitation: this workspace contains PowerX's own pricing guidance but no competitor rate data and no current official price table text, so I can't produce a verified side-by-side comparison. If you tell me a competitor's per-minute rate and the kWh/time you typically get, I'll work out the effective yen/kWh for you.

また、現時点では予約時間終了後の超過料金は発生しません(/sources/ja/public-help/articles/28501958588313.md:20)。
