- General (non-member) use: no membership/annual fee at all. Since 2024-11-18 charging is metered (pay-as-you-go) — you pay only for the electricity you actually charge, not for the reserved minutes. Per-station menus are shown in the app.

**How billing works**

1. When you reserve, PowerX runs a credit-card authorization (auth hold) to verify the card. Some card companies send a notification for this hold — it is not an actual charge, and if no charging took place you are not billed and the hold is released.

2. After charging ends and the amount is finalized, the actual charging fee is captured from the held amount and the remainder is released; this is normally processed within about an hour after the reserved end time.
